Shoe Inspired

My shoe obsession is nothing new and a very common trait among women, but shoes are more than just accessories to me.  They can make or break an outfit, and they can sometimes be a more important statement than the outfit itself.  I'm quite sure that my obsession goes even deeper to the way that shoes make me feel.  I have my "sexy" shoes, my "sporty" shoes, my "not feeling so glamorous" shoes, my "power pumps," but lately I've really been loving my "creative" shoes.

Maybe I'm crazy, but when I wear my graffiti Keds®, I'm inspired.  I can probably partially attribute this feeling to their very kidlike style; I'm eight again and my imagination is unlimited.

My very worn Keds®, my creative shoe.
They're 2 years-old and it shows!
Though all of this sounds childish, it's also very stylish.  Creative shoes by Keds® Collective are a summer must-have and a staple for seasons to come.  I am sure almost everyone can find a shoe here that fits their style and personality.  If not in the designer collection, the classic Keds® are equally as inspiring and the perfect alternative for any boat shoe.  Rarely can you find a shoe that remains timeless and can be just as chic today as it was when it was first constructed almost a hundred years ago.

A full-body shot.

Check out the Keds® store online for the new styles.  Their images are copyrighted, so I can't post them here.  Have fun!

From Preppy to Pretty:
The New J. Crew

I started browsing the J. Crew catalog in high school, sadly to say before clicking through styles was mainstream.  I remember the clothier as a champion of the chunky sweater, henley and crew neck cotton shirts, and an unmatched selection of Chinos.  I owned the two pocket, the front pocket, the flannel-lined, you name it.  It wasn't until after a few years of loving their incredibly soft fabrics that I fell in love with my first bit of sparkle from J. Crew, a light pink button front with puffed sleeves and weaved with shimmery gold threading.  Who knew that they would develop into sparkly chic several years later?

I believe they've reached their peak with pieces embellished perfectly for day but with just enough glitz for heels at night.  And though you'll now be paying more per square inch of fabric than that of their former preppy styles, you're paying for high quality and designer influence at a price nowhere near its designer counterpart.  You may be pleasantly surprised by J. Crew's new sparkle.  Take a look below.

Going to the Chapel and What Will You Wear?

Don't think you can't look just as beautiful as the bride or as handsome as the groom when you're attending a summer wedding.  You can!  Beside that, you're style can be so much more flirtatious than the white dress and black tux.  Your ability to play with cocktail wear also shows your ability to be the sensationally fun wedding guest (think Wedding Crashers gone super chic).  So when you're going to the chapel and you're not getting married, really consider what you will wear.

Here are some of my favorite wedding looks.

Eyelet Green Dress from the Limited
This dress, a beautiful necklace and some fun shoes will be great for dancing.
I thought I was over the strappy sandal until I saw these–perfect wedding wear.

John Varvatos Seersucker Suit in a super chic color
This is truly a beautiful suit for summer. Bravo, John!

You can add a belt at the waist for a more dramatic silhouette.

Mini Loubi Satin Clutch - Christian Louboutin
Notice the perfect detail at the clasp: mini Loubi heels!

This look is perfect for a night wedding and afterparty!

Try some peep-toe booties to complete this look.
